Biography
Jean Boggs moved to Baltimore in 2013 after painting in New York City for over a decade. Boggs received her M.F.A. in 2008 from Brooklyn College, where she was twice awarded the prestigious Charles G. Shaw scholarship for outstanding painting. She was also a Dean's List honoree. Her training at Pratt Institute and Columbia University provides Boggs with a classical and dynamic foundation from which her intuitive, personal work stems. She has taught art and art history at LaGuardia Community College in Queens, New York. Boggs' painting practice is cross-pollinated by her work as a librarian and focused study of Middle Eastern dance.
